Welcome to GPCCS Bilingual Class 2A! My name is Tanya (谭雅). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from a university in China. I moved to Arizona six years ago, studied English at community college, passed the GED, and earned an Instructional Design certificate from the University of Illinois.
I have been teaching Mandarin for more than two years, with 58 students and over 600 hours of lessons—both online and in person. My teaching is built on three core principles: simplicity, engagement, and practicality. I use a variety of media such as videos, textbooks, and flashcards, and I incorporate poetry recitation, games, and other interactive activities to make learning Chinese fun and effective.
My lessons will help students master Mandarin’s four tones, build essential vocabulary, and develop a solid foundation in the language. I will guide them step-by-step, starting with the basics and gradually progressing to more complex topics.
